How to prepare radishes

✅ The essentials

Radishes are eaten raw, whole with butter and salt, or in rounds in a salad. Cooked in the pan or the oven, they turn mild, almost like a turnip. The tops make a soup.

🛒 Choosing it

Firm, smooth, with fresh green tops.

🧼 Preparing it

Cut the tops and the small root. Wash them, rubbing, the soil stays in the folds.

🔪 Cutting it for the dish

  • Whole, with a little butter and salt.
  • In thin rounds, for a salad or a sandwich.
  • Halved, sautéed in butter or roasted in the oven for ten minutes.

⏱️ How long it takes

Two minutes for a bunch.

🧊 Storing it

Without the tops, in the fridge in a container, a week. With the tops, two days.

🍽️ Make it tonight

A bunch of washed radishes, with a little butter and salt, as a starter.
